Moustapha Halidou was born in Niamey, Niger and raised in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. Passionate about visual story-telling from an early age, he studied video production at the Corcoran School of Arts and Design in Washington, DC and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in New York City.

Moustapha spent the first ten years of his career in the cable television industry working for a marketing association (CTAM) as an Associate Producer, Communications & Marketing. In this role he edited videos to promote the association’s products and services and produced the cable television industry's prestigious marketing awards competition and ceremony, The Mark Awards.

In 2012 Moustapha shifted to being a freelance video producer, ending his 10-year service to CTAM as a full-time employee while CTAM became his first client.

In 2015 Moustapha married and moved to the Shenandoah mountains in Virginia (about 1 hour from Washington DC) to start a new life with his wife and step-children.

In 2017 Moustapha began working for American Artist Brian Dailey at Artz Road Studios in Woodstock, VA. He was recruited to finish the post-production while managing a team of junior editors on Dailey’s 7-year international video art project, WORDS, in time for its opening exhibition at the American University Museum in Washington, DC. The project went on to exhibit in New York City; Tbilisi, Georgia; Sofia, Bulgaria; and was featured at the World Bank. In 2019 he accompanied Dailey to seven countries in Northwest and Central Africa to shoot interviews which finalized representation from every region of the world in this ambitious art project.

Moustapha continues to develop content with Artz Road Studios for exhibition in galleries around the world while freelancing as a video editor and motion graphics artist for a wide range of clients. On the side, he continues to work on passion projects about stories which resonate with his desire to raise awareness about issues fundamental to the human condition.
